 “Welcome to Your Church”

(1 Corinthians 2-3)

I. The unbelieving member (1 Corinthians 2:14)

  1. They are deceived members.  (Matthew 7:21-22)
  2. They are planted members. (Matthew 13:24-28)
  3. They will be known by their fruit. (Matthew 7:17-20)

II. The mature member (1 Corinthians 2:6-13, 15-16)

  1. They are able to receive the wisdom of God.
  2. They realize that what they learn only comes by revelation of the Holy Spirit.
    • The Spirit reveals truth.
    • The Spirit is the only one who knows the thoughts of God.
    • The Spirit is our only source of understanding.
  2. They are able to discern good from evil.

III. The immature member (1 Corinthians 3:1-4)

  1. Immature members cannot handle the truth.
  2. Immature members have difficulty discerning good from evil.
  3. Immature members reveal themselves in how the respond to others.
