“Preparing for Holiness” – Ezra 9-10

I. Understanding the situation. (Ezra 9:1-2)
- Israel disputed God’s love for them. (Malachi 1:1-3)
- Israel was guilty of halfhearted worship. (Malachi 1:12-14)
- Israel was living in their flesh. (Malachi 2:13-14)
- Israel was blaming God for their political situation. (Malachi 2:17-3:1)
- Israel was robbing God. (Malachi 3:8-10)
- Israel claimed it was useless to worship God. (Malachi 3:14-15)
II. A Godly response. (Ezra 9:3-10:4)
- We must be broken over how far we have strayed from God.
- We must be willing to confess our sin.
- We must be driven to action.
- Move.
- Be responsible.
- Take corrective action.
