“Looking for Signs of Life”

(Revelation 3:1-6)

I. Create an accurate assessment of your current condition. (Rev. 3:1)

1. Jesus holds the only thing that gives life to the church.
2. We can get misguided in our personal assessment.
   • Past victories do not guarantee current life.
   • Activity does not guarantee current life.
   • The only indicator of life is that people are being transformed by the Holy Spirit.

II. We die when we lose the exclusivity of the gospel. (Rev. 3:2-3)

1. Jesus did not come to compromise but to conquer. (Matt 10:34-36)
2. Jesus did not come to be a way, He came to be the way. (John 14:6)
3. Compromise creates comfort, exclusivity creates urgency.

III. The promise to the faithful. (Rev. 3:4-6)

1. He will clothe us in His righteousness.
2. He will keep us until the end.
3. He will stand for us.
